Please submit your manuscript, in English or German, as either a LaTeX package or a PDF. Every submission is reviewed by the editors, and every author receives a reasoned response.

Submission is free. A single CHF 450 charge applies when a manuscript proceeds to external peer review.

- Peer review chargeCharged once when external review begins
- CHF 450 becomes payable when the manuscript proceeds to independent double-blind peer review. The responsible editor considers the reports and makes the final publication decision after review.
- Included in the chargeExternal review and complete digital publication
- External review is included. Accepted articles receive translation, an English Version of Record in PDF and HTML, a German HTML reading version, a DOI, citation metadata, Markdown and an AI-ready article package. Example

- Payment instructions are sent with the editorial decision to proceed to peer review. Authors may pay by bank transfer or PayPal using the details provided.
Manuscript preparation
Swissi AI Journal LaTeX Template
The official template provides the journal's A4 layout, APA 7 references, author and affiliation formatting, figure handling and a separate declarations page. The editorial office adds the DOI and publication metadata.

- Add the title, abstract, keywords, authors, affiliations, ORCIDs, manuscript, references, figures and declarations. Adapt the section structure to the article.
- Before submissionCompile and review the submission
- Check the complete paper, including sources, figures, tables, equations and declarations, then send the PDF or LaTeX package to the editors.
- Editorial completionThe journal completes the publication record
- After the article is accepted for publication, the editorial office adds the DOI, Swissi address, journal metadata and editorial dates, then prepares the published versions.
Submissions
The journal accepts four manuscript types
The manuscript type reflects the maturity of the work, its evidentiary structure and the use readers can make of it.
- PaperComplete research with evaluation
- A Paper states a research question, method and evaluation, and supports each conclusion with evidence presented in the manuscript.
- PreprintComplete work during assessment
- A Preprint presents a complete argument or study while assessment is still in progress, with the current review status stated on the publication record.
- ReportApplied evidence for practitioners
- A Report documents a technical or institutional project, including its context, method, findings and implications for professional practice.
- NoteOne focused scholarly contribution
- A Note develops a single argument, result, replication or commentary and situates that contribution in the literature it addresses.
Process
From submission to publication
Every manuscript receives an editorial assessment and a reasoned decision. The editorial decision to proceed initiates independent double-blind peer review.
- 01 · SubmissionSend the manuscript to the editors
- Submit a PDF or LaTeX package in English or German, identifying the authors, affiliations, manuscript type and abstract. Word documents are accepted in emergencies, with appropriate editorial composure.
- 02 · Editorial assessmentThe editors assess fit and evidence
- The editors assess the manuscript's fit, method, evidence and contribution. Their reasoned decision states whether it proceeds to external peer review.
- 03 · External peer reviewIndependent specialists assess the work
- At least 2 specialists from outside the editorial team assess the manuscript in a double-blind review. Peer review is completed within 4 weeks of submission.
- 04 · Decision and publicationThe editor decides and production begins
- The responsible editor considers the review reports and makes the final decision. Accepted articles enter production and are published continuously under CC BY 4.0.

Named authors take responsibility for the manuscript and record their individual contributions.

Collaborative work across laboratories, companies and public bodies
The journal publishes collaborative research conducted across universities, laboratories, companies and public bodies. Evidence from systems in operation is central to its scope.
Named individuals hold authorship; institutions are recorded as affiliations on the published article.
AI use
Authors remain responsible for AI-assisted work
AI tools may support manuscript preparation and research. Authorship, verification and disclosure remain with the named authors.

- AI tools may support language editing, consistency checks, source tracing, translation, formatting and metadata preparation. Authors review every result before submission.
- AuthorshipAuthorship remains human and accountable
- Named authors define the argument, approve the submitted manuscript and take responsibility for its accuracy, originality, sources and conclusions.
- DeclarationMaterial use is recorded
- Authors identify the tool, version, purpose and affected part of the work. AI used in research or analysis is described in the methods in sufficient detail for evaluation and replication.
- VerificationEvery output is checked against its source
- Authors verify AI-assisted claims, quotations, citations, code, analyses, figures and tables before submission. Editors apply the same standards of method, evidence and originality to every manuscript.
Publication rights
Authors retain copyright and publish under CC BY 4.0
Every accepted article is available open access from publication. The licence permits sharing and adaptation with attribution, while the journal maintains the Version of Record and its publication history.
